Conditions of Adoption

The dog will be given 3 to 4 weeks to adjust to new surroundings. In consideration of the fact that it takes this long for an animal to become compatible with his new environment and for the DOG and ADOPTER to adjust to each other.

The DOG will be returned to GIVER if, under any circumstances, the ADOPTER is no longer able to keep the DOG. There will not be a refund of the adoption fee. AMRSEM has the right to reposes the dog for any reason (including neglect, abuse, cruelty/etc) without the refund of the adoption fee.

The DOG will wear a strong flat or rolled collar (not a choke type collar) with a current license and tag showing the name and address of the ADOPTER at all times. A training collar is permitted during training sessions and when the DOG is completely supervised, so no risk of accidental choking can occur.

The DOG will be licensed by the adopter WITHIN 4 WEEKS of this adoption agreement according to the local animal control ordinances.

The DOG will live in the ADOPTER'S home as a member of the family. If the DOG is housed outdoors at any time, it will be in an enclosure suitable for enclosing an Alaskan Malamute, with shelter from sun and bad weather. The DOG will also be provided with water at all times and food daily.

The DOG will be kept on a leash whenever taken out of the ADOPTER'S yard for protection against running away, being hit by a car or any other calamity.

The DOG will not be used for dog fighting, medical experimentation and will not be subjected to abuse, cruelty, or neglect by the ADOPTER.

Medical Conditions of Adoption

The DOG will be given necessary Rabies shots and a yearly DHL Booster/ Parvo Booster and annual heartworm check. The DOG will be on Heartworm Preventative at all times.

The DOG will be taken to a licensed Veterinarian- not to an Animal Shelter or Humane Society without a licensed vet.

ADOPTER agrees to have the DOG spayed or neutered within 90 days, if this has not already been done, and will send GIVER a copy of certification by a veterinarian who has performed the altering of the DOG. We also strongly recommend that the dog be tattooed or microchipped at this time.

ADOPTER agrees to accept full responsibility for the cost of altering the DOG.

If the DOG is lost or stolen, the ADOPTER will immediately notify GIVER by telephone. ADOPTER agrees to make every effort to locate the DOG including placing advertisements in local newspapers and regularly checking local animal shelters.

ADOPTER agrees to allow GIVER to periodically check on the DOG to be assured of compliance with ALL CONDITIONS of this Agreement. Failure of adopter to comply with all conditions of this agreement will be SUFFICIENT CAUSE for repossession of the dog by giver.

The ADOPTER has been advised of these facts and agrees to accept all responsibility for the behavior of the DOG and agrees to ALL CONDITIONS on these adoption papers.

As the adopter, you agree to all of the conditions set forth

The adoption agreement is effective until notification is given of the death of the DOG. Such notification of death, or repossession of the DOG by GIVER, or return of the DOG to GIVER (for any reason), shall be sufficient to terminate this agreement.

The adoption fee charged helps to cover costs AMRSEM encounters while providing medical care, transportation and daily maintenance of malamutes in need.
